Day 19 – Electricity
Have you ever learned about electricity?
I have on one of our dad days.
We learnt that electricity is made with magnets and coils. To send electricity to our homes, the voltage must be lowered so that it doesn’t blow up the lights and other appliances. Solar panels and wind turbines are used to make electricity without harming the environment.
We also played around with a electricity kit making circuits with capacitors and resistors. Capacitors are like batteries except that when they are full, they let out the power by making a flash. Capacitors are used in aeroplane lights. Resistors change power into less voltage to stop appliances from blowing up. I had heaps of fun making circuits until the batteries went flat.
