These are some photos that I took of the sunset.

I thought it would be cool if I told you a little bit on how sunsets and sunrises happen.

The sun’s light rays come through our atmosphere. The rays are made up of all the different colours of the rainbow.  The short-waved rays bounce off the mist and gases floating in there, and because the short waves are a blue colour, when we look up, in the middle of the day, it makes the sky look blue.

When you see the sun at a sunset all the blue light waves from the sun, have had to travel through much more atmosphere.  So most of the blue and green light waves have bounced off the particles in the atmosphere before coming to our eyes.  This makes the sun and sky into a deep orange, because these long, orange/red rays are the only ones that reach our eyes.

I also took some photos of the flowers in our front garden.

The pink flowers are Mum’s special DAISIES that we bought for her to put in the front garden, the white bud in the middle of the picture is another DAISY that is also Mum’s.  The red fluffy flowers are BOTTLE BRUSH, and we have recently had some birds come and eat the flowers (most of them are really just common birds, but we have had some pretty cool ones come too).  The purple flowers are Danielle’s precious flowers from our Grandma.  The plant with the rounded fat looking leaves are Stephanie’s succulent plant.  If you know the names of Danielle and Stephanie’s plants PLEASE comment below!!

Danielle’s flower is a violet and Steph’s plant is a Jade plant. Hope this helps!
